A Moderrn History

So this fabulous little find has a great little story. The owners who spent most of their life living in Bermuda, wanted to move closer to New York for business, and happened upon the perfect little property in Southampton. It's a pretty traditional colonial revival on the outside, which they love, but they opted for pure modern on the inside. They hired the design team of Sawyer Berson to bring it all together, and I think it looks pretty fabulous. There isn't anything overly complicated about this space.  Most of the furniture is from RH and other relatively easy to source furnishings from C & B and Design within Reach.  But I have come to really appreciate no fuss design, and overall it's pulled together quite comfortably. I am crazy about the metal fireplace surround in blackened steel (above). I actually make quite a few of these surrounds for various clients in the Toronto area, but not to this scale, so I am impressed.  A bright white modern kitchen, with slip-covered stools and dining chairs, smart choices that will hold up over time.
