Casual Comfort

It always starts with one picture. Like the one above, spotted in Traditional Home magazine. As soon as I saw it I knew this property was going to be remarkable.  To start that cognac leather ottoman is a slice of heaven, and a brilliant contrast to the light and bright surroundings. Despite numerous sophisticated features, this home really does take on a feel that is cozy, comfortable and inviting. It belongs to a retired investment banker, whose starting point for the entire design project was the round dining table below.  The massive scale of the chandelier above makes a lasting impression. The beautiful theme of coral carries throughout the house, and it's the scattered collection of artwork that invites exciting changes of colour. I am taking notes, casual comfort is a feeling I always strive for, and it isn't always that easy when you are drawn to refined furnishings.
